This week in science #8

This week in science I had to dissect a grasshopper with a scalpel and scissors. Before that I had to draw the four angles of the dead grasshopper. When I got the grasshopper,I took pictures of each part of it,though the pictures did not turn out well.I was really scared to touch it,but I had to.The smell was awful and I can still smell it.We had to work in groups of two.Me and my partner were very nervous.I only had to use the scalpel to make a little cut so we can use the scissors to really cut the whole thing open. Then my partner used the scalpel to open up the body and see what was inside.the body was really hard so it was difficult to get inside.

I learned that a grasshopper has similar organs and its body is very hollow with no bones in it.It has bearly any organs and it has the same organ placement as the crayfish that other group was doing.I also learned that once you open the crickets body, the body becomes soft again and is easy to break.
